This 1974 Cadillac Eldorado convertible was purchased new by the seller’s father from Tinney Cadillac of Buffalo, New York, and underwent a refurbishment circa 1984, which included replacing body panels and overhauling mechanical components. It is finished in Cranberry Firemist with a black soft top over black Sierra Grain leather upholstery and powered by a 500ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Further equipment includes 15″ steel wheels, polished wheel covers, front disc brakes, an AM/FM stereo, a rear window defroster, automatic climate control, power windows and locks, and a power-adjustable front bench. This Eldorado convertible is offered with a 1974 dealer invoice, literature, brochures, spare parts, and a clean New York title in the seller’s name.
The car is finished in Cranberry Firemist (99) with factory-specification pinstriping and a power-operated black convertible soft top. Front-end damage was sustained in 1981 which prompted the subsequent refurbishment that included replacing the front and rear bumpers, taillights, impact strips, and rocker panel moldings along with the right-front fender, headlight housings, doors, rear fenders, and decklid. Details include a remote-controlled left mirror, a hood protector, fender-mounted light monitors, cornering lights, and chrome bumpers. A fiberglass two-piece boot cover is included in the sale.
The 15″ steel wheels feature polished covers and are mounted with Uniroyal white-stripe tires. Stopping power is provided by front disc and rear drum brakes. The Eldorado featured a torsion bar front suspension and a coil-sprung solid rear axle along with Automatic Level Control and power steering.
The power-adjustable front bench is trimmed in Black Sierra Grain leather, and amenities include an AM/FM stereo, a rear window defroster, automatic climate control, and power windows and locks. The analog clock works intermittently, and the radio was rebuilt during the refurbishment.
The three-spoke steering wheel is accented with woodgrain trim and frames a 100-mph speedometer. The five-digit odometer is said to have rolled over once and now shows 14k miles.
The 500ci V8 features a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor for a factory output of 210 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque. The timing gear was replaced during the refurbishment.
Power is routed to the front wheels via a Turbo Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission. Corrosion is noted on the underbody.
A copy of the purchase invoice lists factory colors, equipment, and a total price of $9,831. Brochures, literature, service manuals, and removed wheels are also included in the sale.
