This 1981 Toyota Celica ST was shipped to American Custom Coachworks, Ltd. of Beverly Hills, California, when it was new and converted into a convertible. It is finished in red over tan and powered by a 2.4-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a tan convertible top, 14″ wheels, a rear luggage rack, a roll bar, air conditioning, and an aftermarket CD stereo. The car spent much of its life under single ownership in Pennsylvania and was acquired by the seller in 2024. This Celica shows 81k miles and is now offered at no reserve with a clean Carfax report and a clean Illinois title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in red with gold pinstriping and side moldings, and it was repainted under previous ownership, during which time rust repair was performed to the rocker panels and rear quarter panels. The car is equipped with a tan convertible top. A roll bar, a trailer hitch, and a luggage rack have been added. Chipped paint on the rear quarter panel is shown up close in the image gallery below.

14″ wheels are wrapped in Hankook tires. Braking is handled by power-assisted discs up front and drums out back.

The 2+2 cabin features tan upholstery. An aftermarket wiper delay system and cruise control have been added, although the latter does not work. Additional amenities include air conditioning, a glovebox, and a JVC head unit linked with speakers mounted in the rear bulkhead. Wear is present on the seats, there is corrosion at the base of the doors, and the air conditioning does not blow cold.

The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a tachometer, an 85-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges. An analog clock is mounted in the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 81k miles, approximately 800 of which were added by the seller.

The 2.4-liter 22R inline-four was factory rated at 97 horsepower and 128 lb-ft of torque. The seller states that the alternator, battery, and fuel filter were replaced in May 2024.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission. Rust is present on the underside, additional photos of which are viewable in the gallery.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists registration history in Pennsylvania and Illinois from the first entry in 1987.
