This 1966 Ford Mustang convertible was acquired by the selling dealer in 2023 and subsequently refinished in green over black vinyl. The car is powered by a 200ci inline-six paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, and equipment includes a black convertible soft top, 14″ steel wheels, front bucket seats, a center console, and an aftermarket AM/FM stereo. Additional work included rebuilding the carburetor and replacing drum brakes, wheel cylinders, shocks, exhaust manifold, valve cover gasket, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, and wiring harness. This Mustang is now offered by the selling dealer at no reserve with the owner’s manual, historical photos, refurbishment records and photos, and a clean New Jersey title.

The car was factory-finished in Ivy Green Metallic and refinished in the current shade of green in 2024. Additional work included replacing the floors, torque boxes, windshield, back-up lamps, and rear bumper guards. A replacement black convertible soft top is also fitted.

The 14″ steel wheels wear covers and are mounted with Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires measuring 205/75. Braking is handled by front and rear drums that were replaced under current ownership along with the wheel cylinders. Monroe shocks were fitted in 2024.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in black vinyl. The seat covers, door panels, and carpeting were replaced under previous ownership. Amenities include a center console, a heater, and pony and tri-color bar-emblem floor mats. The aftermarket AM/FM radio is inoperative.

Instrumentation consists of a 140-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 21k miles, approximately 20 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 200ci inline-six was factory rated at 120 horsepower. Refurbishment work included rebuilding the carburetor and replacing the exhaust manifold, valve cover gasket, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, and wiring harness.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a C4 three-speed automatic transmission.

The warranty number is consistent with a 1966 Mustang convertible that was built in Dearborn, Michigan, and equipped with a 200ci inline-six. Decoding the trim tag reveals the following information:

  • Body 76A – Mustang convertible with standard interior
  • Color R – Ivy Green paint

  • Date 27F – June 27, 1966 build date
  • DSO 17 – Washington, DC, district sales office
