This 1960 Austin-Healey 3000 BT7 was first delivered to Los Angeles, California and specified in Florida Green with a gray top. In 2006 the car was disassembled, overhauled, and refinished with black and white paintwork, black upholstery, a Robbins Everflex top, and a rebuilt 2.9-liter inline-six and four-speed manual transmission. Trim was re-plated and the Dunlop wire wheels were replaced, and the brakes were also overhauled. This 3000 Mk I was acquired by the current owner in 2023 and is now offered on dealer consignment in Massachusetts with a British Motor Industry Heritage Trust certificate and a clean Maryland title.
The car left the factory in Florida Green, and in 2006 it was disassembled, stripped, and repainted its current shades of black and white utilizing DuPont products according to the selling dealer. Trim was re-plated and a Robbins Everflex top was installed. The car also has a tonneau cover and side curtains.
Replacement Dunlop 15″ knock-off wire wheels BFGoodrich tires were installed, and a spare is mounted in the trunk. The brake lines and master cylinder were replaced as well.
The interior was re-trimmed with black upholstery accented by ivory piping. The wiring harness was replaced with a cloth-wrapped component, and the steering wheel and gauges were refurbished.
Instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer, a fuel-level gauge, and a combination gauge displaying oil pressure and water temperature. The five-digit odometer has been reset, and total mileage is unknown.
The 2.9-liter inline-six featured dual SU HD6 carburetors from the factory for a rating of 137 horsepower and 175 lb-ft of torque. The selling dealer notes that both the engine and carburetors were rebuilt along with the starter and generator, and the exhaust manifold was treated with a high-temperature coating. The oil was changed in June 2024.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with Laycock-de Normanville electric overdrive, and the selling dealer notes that the transmission was also rebuilt and a stainless-steel muffler was installed.
