This 2001 Porsche Boxster S is powered by a 3.2-liter flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle, and it was acquired by the seller on BaT in December 2022. Work performed before the seller’s purchase included replacement of the IMS bearing, rear main seal, clutch components, and axles while service under current ownership consisted of replacing the cam tensioners, oil separator, oil pressure switch, and assorted oil seals. The car is finished in Seal Gray Metallic over black leather and is equipped with a replacement black soft top, a modified exhaust system, 18” Turbo-look wheels, a deployable rear spoiler, xenon headlights, power-adjustable seats, a CD stereo, and automatic climate control. This 986 Boxster S has 70k miles and is now offered with recent service records, a Carfax report, and a clean New Mexico title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Seal Grey Metallic and features a replacement black soft top with a heated glass rear window that is said to have been installed under previous ownership. Additional details include xenon headlights, a speed-activated rear spoiler, side air intakes, and roll hoops. The Carfax report lists damage affecting the rear and right-rear portions of the car in March 2016 and November 2017, though no additional information is provided. There is a crack in the rear bumper cover below the left taillight, and additional photos of dings, paint chips, and exterior imperfections are viewable in the gallery below.

The 18” Turbo-look alloy wheels feature full-color Porsche crest center caps and are mounted with 225/40 Continental SportContact tires up front and 265/35 Continental ExtremeContact rear tires that show 2022 and 2019 production codes, respectively. Braking is handled by four-piston Porsche-branded calipers fitted over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners. The seller states that the brake pads and the lower control arms were replaced in 2023. There are blemishes on the wheels.

The cabin features power-adjustable seats upholstered in black supple leather with debossed Porsche crests on the headrests.  A replacement leather dashboard reportedly sourced from a 911 was installed under previous ownership, and interior features include an Alpine stereo, a Hi-Fi sound system, cruise control, driver seat-position memory settings, and automatic climate control. Indentations are noted on the dashboard, there is wear on the shifter, and the right speaker buzzes when in use. The ignition switch was replaced in 2023, according to the seller.

A leather-wrapped steering wheel fronts a central tachometer, a 180-mph speedometer, and gauges for coolant temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 70k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership.

The mid-mounted 3.2-liter flat-six is mounted ahead of the rear storage compartment, and it was factory rated at 250 horsepower and 225 lb-ft of torque. Work completed in December 2022 included the installation of a replacement IMS bearing and replacing the rear main seal. The cam tensioners, oil separator, oil pressure sender, cam O-rings, and spark plug tube O-rings were replaced in April 2023, and the seller states that the air filter and spark plugs were replaced under current ownership.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle. The clutch components and rear axles were replaced in December 2022, and the seller states that secondary catalytic converter bypass pipes have been installed. The removed secondary catalytic converters are included in the sale.
