This 1972 MG MGB Roadster was acquired in 2015 by the selling dealer, who states that a refurbishment carried out circa 2008 included repainting the car in red, re-trimming the tan interior, and overhauling the 1.8-liter inline-four and other mechanical systems. The car is further equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, dual SU carburetors, 15″ Minilite-style wheels, and front disc brakes as well as a tan convertible top, Smiths instrumentation, and a Mountney steering wheel. This MGB is said to have been awarded at multiple Pittsburgh-area car shows and is now offered with a removed luggage rack and a Pennsylvania title.

The car was refinished in red in the mid-2000s and fitted with a replacement tan soft top and a matching top boot. Exterior details include chrome-finished bumpers, dual side mirrors, and a polished exhaust outlet. Close-up photos of the finish are provided in the gallery below.

Silver-finished 15″ Minator Minilite-replica wheels with MG-logo center and valve caps are mounted with P185/60 Goodyear Eagle RS-A tires, and a matching spare is located in the trunk. Braking is provided by front discs and rear drums. Braided stainless-steel lines and EBC dimpled-and-slotted rotors have been fitted, and the calipers have been painted red.

The refreshed interior houses bucket seats upholstered in tan leather, and the door panels are trimmed to match. Additional appointments include a defroster, a locking glove box, and a center console with storage under the armrest in addition to a wood shift knob, metal doorsill plates, and embroidered floor mats that all carry the MG logo.

A Mountney Classic steering wheel with a black leather wrap frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges displaying oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 11k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 1.8-liter inline-four was factory-equipped with twin SU carburetors and was rated at 78 horsepower and 94 lb-ft of torque. It was reportedly overhauled circa 2008, and a front-mounted oil cooler and a PerTronix Flame-Thrower ignition coil have been fitted. The oil was most recently changed in fall 2023.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

A removed luggage rack is included in the sale.

The car’s Pennsylvania title carries an “Antique” brand.
