47k-Mile 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL

This 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is said to have remained with its original owner in Kentucky until 2022, and it now shows 47k miles. The car is finished in Garnet Red over beige leather upholstery, and it is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a limited-slip differential, a beige soft top, a removable hardtop, silver-finished 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels, fog lights, a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo, an alarm system, electric windows, central locking, cruise control, and automatic climate control. Work performed in 2023 included replacing the front and rear dampeners, brake master cylinder, front brake components, fuel accumulator, fuel injectors, fuel filter, spark plugs, and spark plug wires. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, this R107 is offered with manufacturer’s literature, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Pennsylvania title.

The car is finished in Garnet Red (512) and features a color-matched removable hardtop and a beige convertible soft top that is said to have been replaced. Additional exterior details include quad headlights, fog lights, a power antenna, and chrome-accented bumpers and trim. The selling dealer states that the driver’s door and hardtop have been refinished. There are paint touch-ups on the soft top cover panel and blemishes on the right side trim. Silver-finished 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels were refinished in 2024 and are mounted with Bridgestone Turanza tires. The car was factory-equipped with power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The front and rear dampeners, brake master cylinder, and front brake pads, rotors, and calipers were replaced in 2023.

The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in beige leather along with a matching center console and door panels. Interior amenities include a Becker AM/FM/cassette stereo, an alarm system, electric windows, central locking, cruise control, and automatic climate control.

The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 170-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 47k miles, approximately 200 of which were added by the selling dealer.

The 5.5-liter V8 was factory rated at 227 horsepower and 279 lb-ft of torque. The fuel accumulator, fuel injectors, fuel filter, spark plugs, and spark plug wires were replaced in 2023.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other reported damage from its first entry in June 1992.
