This 1969 Pontiac Firebird is one of 91 manual-transmission 400ci H.O. convertibles produced for the model year. It is finished in Mayfair Maize over black vinyl and equipped with a limited-slip differential, black soft top, power-assisted front disc brakes, 14″ Rally II wheels, a center console, and a heater. The seller purchased the car in 2022 and has since added approximately 600 miles. This Firebird is now offered with Pontiac Historic Services documentation, a window sticker, service records, and a clean Virginia title in the seller’s name.
The car was stripped to bare metal and repainted in the factory Mayfair Maize in 2018. It is also equipped with a black soft top. Close-up photos of the paintwork as well as receipts for the work can be viewed in the gallery.
The 14″ Rally II wheels are mounted with 215/70 BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial redline tires. Stopping is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. A spare set of steel wheels and hubcaps are included in the sale.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in Black vinyl along with a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a center console and a heater.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 72k miles, approximately 600 of which were added under current ownership.
The 400ci High Output V8 was factory equipped with a four-barrel carburetor and was rated at 335 horsepower and 430 lb-ft of torque. The engine was removed for a cosmetic refresh in 2018. The engine bay was also refreshed at that time.
